The photography of Edward Steichen

Steichen is the celebrated photographer who is known for photographing some of the most famous people and subjects of the 20’s to 50’s. When visiting Gallery 526, guests will see such images as those of Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Gloria Swanson, Lillian Gish, Carl Sandburg, Alfred Stiegletz and many others. He also photographed beloved New York scenes as the Brooklyn Bridge and Flat Iron building, along with many other interesting images. 

 Opening with extended hours Friday, April 9 through Saturday April 10 from 11 am to 7 pm, Sunday 12 to 4 pm. Music by Jed Maness, playing piano outside in front of the gallery under the portico on Saturday from 2 to 7 pm. 

Twenty-five (25) framed, museum quality photographs produced by Joanna Steichen and George Tice are for sale. An additional seventy-five (75) unframed museum quality photographs from same collection will also be available from a collection of several portfolios in a private collection.
